NERO — SOLVENT-FREE TYRE GEL
A deep matte, factory-black finish rather than a wet-look gloss. Antistatic, so it holds dust less than a greasy dressing.
Solvent-free is the part that matters. Solvent-carried dressings sling readily onto paintwork, and over time they draw plasticisers out of the sidewall — which is what browns and cracks a tyre prematurely. This is a gel, so it stays where you put it.
THE NO-SOAK APPLICATORS
Five 5" round microfibre pads from The Rag Company with a liquid barrier built into the middle. Product stays on the working face instead of soaking through, so it goes onto the tyre rather than into the pad — less gel per tyre, cleaner hands, and an even finish. The edge of the pad gives you a clean line at the rim.
Five means one per corner and a spare, or one per car across a few jobs. They wash and reuse.
DRESS A CLEAN TYRE
Sidewall must be clean and dry. If there is still browning in it, dressing over the top is why it goes patchy again in a fortnight — decontaminate first. The Wheel & Tyre Kit adds SIDERO iron and fallout remover plus the Big EZ wheel brush for exactly that.
